A private enterprise improves the offer of healthcare service in Chiasso
// Dr. Claudio Cereghetti, current attending Physician of the haemodialysis facility in the Beata Vergine Hospital is opening a dialysis unit. Apart from the surgery, it will have various equipment available for therapy. It will be the third private operational unit in the Ticino region.
A nephrology unit with several dialysis machines is about to open next month right in the centre of Chiasso. Nowadays, Switzerland counts over 30 facilities of this kind, two of them already present in the Ticino region: one in Tenero and a second one in the immediate vicinity of the Moncucco Clinic. Promoter of this initiative is Dr. Claudio Cereghetti, current attending Physician at the Obv’s haemodialysis unit in Mendrisio, who will leave his job at the end of this month to open a surgery in corso San Gottardo.
A dialysis unit located in an ordinary building helps patients deal more positively with their condition.
This makes a difference for patients who go to hospital three times a week for therapy: here they will receive consulting and appropriate treatment as if they were in hospital, but their stay will be made as pleasant as possible.
As a result, Chiasso becomes an even more focal health centre across the district. A pioneering medical centre started it all with general practitioners and specialists working side by side – this specialization has now been implemented over the years thanks to the growth of more specialist surgeries.
